Tickling Trees

Light snow highlights tree limbs reaching for the sky.

Are they dancing, celebrating fresh snow ?

Trees tickling the sky on my journey to Vancouver. A sweet stop between ferries..

BC’s Sunshine Coast holds many delights of nature. Highway 101 a skinny ribbon of a road along the west coast of the mainland north of Vancouver, connected by two ferries, showcases a sampling of the vast rugged wild forests and landscape rising up out of the Salish Sea.

It’s a pleasure to drive, stunning views, glimpses out to sea and inland, up lakes and estuaries.

Personally I love BC Ferries for the two glorious glides across the water through tree covered coastal mountains with snowy peaks shining through from time to time. There’s no rush and plenty of green to penetrate our busy lives.

February 23rd, heading to the city, I pulled over to enjoy these bare naked trees dusted in snow. Are they dancing reaching for and tickling the blue sky… branches usually laden with leaves feeding us oxygen so generously. Look how they twist and turn so graceful and strong.

The snowy shoreline was pretty cool too.

Snow dusted logs along the beach, and beautiful blue sky.

Fresh snow on the peaks, such an awesome view from the BC Ferry.
