Truth & Reconciliation
It begins with Truth allowing us all to Heal
The Truth & Reconciliation process is slow, there is much for us settlers to learn, healing with and honouring the First Nations Peoples, their lands, traditions and rights.
In this paper I’ve begun to share my experience in the interests of connecting with other like minds who care and have heard with their hearts.
What will it take ?
CREATING A FAIR AND HOROURABLE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ABORIGINAL AND NON-ABORIGINAL PEOPLE: WHAT WILL IT TAKE?
ABSTRACT
For me, once I see something, I can’t then unsee it. Imagine every 7-year-old child taken from every home in the land for three generations. Culture, language and connection erased; families destroyed. The impact of these actions became clear to me when I witnessed these children, now elders of the local Tla’amin First Nation in Canada, return to the very place they were taken from 60 years ago. My hope in creating this paper is to raise awareness and connect with those who care for our First Nation friends.

Yes this is my first first published paper sharing my experience and learning. Thank you to all my teachers and guides… yours truly John Johnny a stand for love peace and harmony ~ equal diverse.
I’m interested in creating peace in our lifetime, embracing First Nations values of caring for the land, all people, all living things, and considering the impact of our choices on the next 7 generations. Taking responsibility and caring for Mother Earth. As a non-indigenous person living in Canada I’m interested in being part of the solution, helping educate other non-indigenous people through collaborations, conversations, participation and art…
It’s possible ~ what will you do ?
